AOR discharge

My treatment plan will be depends on my CT TAP result done on the 27.3.2026. And i have to wait for the report until next Tuesday (because of the long weekend). For the time being , my antibiotic course already exceeded to 16 days. Not so lucky enough, the CT TAP report only available on the 1st of April, and alhamdulillah the previous pelvic collection was resolved. However new finding on subcutaneous above my surgical wound are appeared suspicious.

So i am in the middle of two major decisions, Medical-will keep me until 1 month antibiotic course are complete in the ward OR Gynae team-they treat it as seroma and totally benign and will manage it by observation. My say..i refused to what ever procedur to collect ?fluid or ?blood in side the new site. And at this time i am considering my recovery process need a different approach. My mental health now is in high alert..and only i can decide which one i will choose. Moreover, i am cliincally are asymptomatic.

Finally, i decided to  be discharged home at my own risk. For me the antibiotic course for 2 weeks is enough. Gynae team will definitely see me and reassess the seroma during next follow up.

I am a doctor, usually AOR option is not preferable by any doctors. But for me long ward stay not without any risk. Worsen the infection and patient are not “happy” and loss of willingness to be better or healthy.

Mentallly and emotionally  is crucial factor. Most importantly this decision and the risk are well understood by all the parties. Even though to treat is doctors previleged ,patient must always together in the patient’s management decision. Simply order and execute is not the right way.

The good thing is, Dr Justin remind me to come ASAP to ED if having any symptoms or fever or pain.

So as of today, i am confortably recovering in my own house for 16 days. Everyday i must show progress. I still pray using a chair, but i already sleep in my own bed on the first floor.Recovering is a way to back to normal routine pre-op as close as possible, as fast as bearable and as normal as acceptable.

So i have at lest another 3 weeks before i go back to track, job and study… pray for me :)
